San Francisco Giants Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview

The Giants are probably going to be on my list of teams to look to bet on. They had a disappointing 75-87 season last year but that was because Bonds did not play the entire season. These Giants have won their backers money in every season for the previous 6 seasons. A total of 91 units!

With Bonds expected back in 2006, they will more likely resemble the Giants that won their backers money than the losers of last year. With a weak National League West, watch out for these Giants to do damage if Bonds can get back to his late 2005 season

In particular, I will be looking to bet these Giants against left handed pitching. Even in the 2005 season, they were a +6 units against lefties. They were undervalued by about 20 points over the past 3 seasons in this spot.

Beware them on the road though. Over the past several seasons, the Giants are dismal on the road versus lefties. In the past 3 seasons, they were 32-32 +2 units. But at home against lefties, these Giants were 49-17 +27 units in those 3 years. Big difference? Oh yeah.

This is one of our key betting angles for the San Francisco Giants in the 2006 season.

Pittsburgh Pirates Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview
After 3 consecutive 70+ win seasons, these Pirates faltered to 67 wins. They were -18 units on the season. We cannot blame them as they were in a heated NL Central. Heck, maybe they win their division if they were in the National League West. Maybe.O...

Texas Rangers Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview
After finishing the 2004 season 16 games above 500, the Rangers sputtered through the 2005 season and finished 4 games below 500. They went from being a handicappers dream at +24 units in 2004 to a team that was priced about right. The Angels look lik...

San Diego Padres: 2006 Baseball Betting Season Preview
The San Diego Padres had a very disappointing 2005 MLB Season. After posting 87 victories in 2004, they won 5 fewer games. Their cryptonite in the 2004 MLB season was their play at home. Petco park was new and the Padres hitters had trouble adjusting...

Toronto BlueJays Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview
The Toronto Bluejays are either going to be a very exciting team in 2006 or a very mediocre underachieving team. They made a lot of offseason moves that should catapult them to the top of the American League. It is just unfortunate that the Yankees a...

Chicago Cubs Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview

Washington Nationals Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview
The record books are going to show the Nationals as a very average 81-81 team with poor hitting in 2005. Their ballpark is very pitcher friendly so their pitchers seemed sensational and hitters seemed horrendous. A pitching friendly park allows them ...

Atlanta Braves Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview
