1. Don't take out the weighing scales everyday. Depending on how much more you have, losing wait will take time. Do not obsess about the scales. If your weight didn't change yesterday, chances are they didn't change either today. While it's great to keep track of your weight loss progress, it can be very frustrating for you if you don't see the results that you expect frustrating enough that it might actually discourage you from completing your weight loss program.
2. Start a diary. Keeping a diary helps by letting you keep track of your daily activities so you can determine if you are doing enough physical activity and eating right. It can also be a means of reflecting about your weight loss goals and other issues surrounding you.
3. Lighten up on yourself. Effective weight loss involves having to change your lifestyle and sticking to that change. However, don't be too hard on yourself. Everything takes time so take it one step at a time. You can't expect yourself to immediately get accustomed to all the changes. Start out small. For example, if you're not used to doing much physical activity, start out by moving around the house, doing chores. To even help motivate you, make sure to do something that you like. Over time, increase the amount of physical activities that you incorporate in your daily life. Eventually, you would have gotten so used to them already that you won't feel that you're obligating yourself to do something.
4. Seek support. While its ultimately just you who can make changes for your life, it wouldn't hurt to get help and support every now and then. Tell your family and friends about your weight loss goals. Even better, get them involved with your weight loss goals as well. Think how so much more fun it will be to jog to the park if you're with a friend. Having support will help motivate you to achieve your weight loss goals faster.
5. Eat everything. And that means all kinds, not all the amount available. Your body needs a variety of foods to make sure that it gets all the nutrients it needs to stay healthy. Not only that, depriving yourself of certain foods can make you frustrated. In the long run, when all these deprived feelings have piled up, they may be powerful enough to just make you want to quit. And that's not what you want. So stop depriving yourself. Eat everything and anything but in moderation. Depriving yourself of a particular type of food can lead to binge eating which can put you off course your weight loss goals.
6. Do weight training. Weight training is important because it helps build muscle in your body. When you have more muscle in your body, you have the tendency to burn a lot of calories even while at rest. Weight training also builds up your bones and improves your overall strength. If you're not used to weight training however, don't force it. Start with lighter weights and build your way from there. If you lift too much weight, so much more than you can handle, you run the risk of injuring yourself instead.
You can find free weight loss tips just about anywhere but the tricky part is finding out which one to use. Different free weight loss tips work differently with different people. Free weight loss tips that are useful and effective to one person might not necessarily be useful and effective to you. That doesn't mean however that these free weight loss tips were plain bogus.
