Do You Have Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia Symptoms

The number one fibromyalgia symptom is chronic pain felt over the entire body. With the pain one might experience tingling of the skin, muscle aches, spasms of the muscles, weakness in the joints, and nerve pain. Sleep loss is also a fibromyalgia symptom. Some researchers believe the sleep loss is related to interrupted sleep patterns. These interruptions come from bursts of brain activity and prevent you from reaching stage four or deep sleep.

Many people enter a state know as brain fog. While in this state people have slower brain waves and cognitive deficits. All of these fibromyalgia symptoms are related to sleep interruptions.

Other fibromyalgia symptoms are:

Chronic fatigue
Chronic paresthesia
Irritable bowel
Chronic bladder conditions
Skin disorders
Headaches

Not everyone has all the fibromyalgia symptoms and although the pain can be widespread many have it occur in specific locations. Many have pain in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips.

Fibromyalgia symptoms may appear after a trauma but there is no known connection between a specific event and the onset of fibromyalgia. Weather can worsen fibromyalgia symptoms in some people. Other illnesses can also cause symptoms to change. Unlike arthritis fibromyalgia does not cause inflammation but anti-inflammatory medicines have lessened pain levels in some patients.

Fibromyalgia symptoms that may increase discomfort levels are dampness and cold weather, as well as changes in barometric pressure. Increases in physical activity, lack of sleep and increases in ones stress level, may also add to the discomfort level.

Fibromaylgia symptoms usually develop slowly overtime. Some doctors believe symptoms may even occur in early childhood. Fribromaylgia is real and the symptoms limit many people in their daily lives.
