Can You Use Social Networking to Sell? Part I

During the time of Plato, the plaza has become the venue for the meeting of the minds. In this twenty-first century, what we have is the Internet, particularly social networking websites. There are numerous of them which allow us to talk about seemingly anything under the sun. Others can be more specific, though, focusing on politics, fashion, news, sports, films, ethnic groups, and gender, to name a few. They can also post in forums, blogs, and even in their own profiles of the things they are passionate about, such as the movies they like, the music they listen to, the hobbies they are pursuing, or the kind of job they are in today. For affiliate marketers, social networking websites are perfect avenues to earn profits they always dream of without having to invest too much, particularly in terms of finances.

So can you use social networking to sell? Definitely yes! You can actually promote your products and services in cost-effective means. The advertising model can be generally simple. Most of the time, when you upgrade your profile (when there is membership fee you pay), you can sell some of your space in your profile to advertisers for banner as well as text ads. You can also scout for such similar profiles and ask them if theyre willing to carry some of your ads into their profiles.

An Opportunity to More than Sell

Social networking websites are not only for direct selling. You can also use them to build and manage customer relationships. More than anything else, you should be able to maintain your connection to your target market and customers because they will be present for the long haul. They are the same individuals who will be giving you your steady stream of income and spread the word about how amazing your product and service is. They will be your bulwark of a much better and stronger business in the future. In order to do that, you can balance text and link ads with other forms of media or communication such as discussion groups, chats, and blogs.
